I do often think gridlock comes from the excessive political insider calculation among centrist leaders — “who controls what and who leads where.” I also think the far left is necessary to challenge the center to push beyond the status quo apathy among voters and inside government. Contentment is sometimes problematic, especially for lawmakers. But this article does highlight important points of how actual legislation, that has long lasting impact, is achieved. I agree that there needs to be collaboration, and extreme partisan forces can debilitate that. Yet collaboration also necessitates unique vision in order to move society forward. I appreciated this, nonetheless.
